Essendon Maribyrnong Park has drawn clear on top after its win over Ringwood yesterday. EMP has now won both its matches in the one-day competition, complete with bonus points. Makinley Blows (64 & 5/34) continued her outstanding form. For Ringwood, skipper Bhavisha Devchand (81 & 3/48) also registered a fine all-round performance.
Plenty Valley popped into second spot with a big win over Box Hill today. The Bats, with Meagan Ciavarella (64) and Rhiann O'Donnell (74*) on fire, chased down Box Hill's 216 in style at AK Line Reserve.
Carlton-Brunswick stopped Prahran in its tracks with a big win at Princes Park. The home side, after registering a competitive 163 (Katia Jomini 60) bowled Prahran out for 95, with Ella Baulch taking 3/27 for the Strikers.
Melbourne also recorded a fine win over Dandenong at the Albert Ground. Batting first, Dandenong posted a competitive 6/212 with Jessica Matin (61) and Tiana Atkinson (46*) doing best.
Melbourne's reply however was clinical, with Amy Vine (50), Teagan Parker (50*) and Elly Donald (57*) reaching the target with more than ten overs to spare to secure the bonus point.
