The rains which moved in this morning persisted throughout the day and ultimately prevented any possibility of play in Victorian Premier Cricket today.

Just the one match - at Greenvale - got underway. Melbourne Uni declared at its overnight 2/191. Fawad Ahmed then spun his web, taking an amazing 6/9 off 9.3 overs as Greenvale Kangaroos were all out for just 50. The win was enough to catapult Melbourne Uni into equal second spot on the ladder.

Despite the best of intentions from umpires, players and clubs, rain and Melbourne Uni were the only clear winners today.

Apart from two results achieved last Saturday (one in the Seconds, one in the Thirds) and the Melbourne Uni Firsts win, all other teams walk away with two points each.
