Dandenong wrapped up the title today in emphatic fashion

Dandenong today won its third CV First XI Premiership with a comprehensive 10-wicket outright victory over Fitzroy Doncaster at the Junction Oval.
The Panthers wrapped up the title before lunch on the third day to go with their White Ball premiership from January.

Any hopes of a miraculous comeback by the Lions today were snuffed out in the first half-hour by Panthers' veteran Darren Pattinson. The 38 year-old quick bowled superbly this morning, claiming the wickets of Matthew Frith (24), Liam Banthorpe (15), Trent Lawford (2) and Lloyd Mash (14) and regularly beating the bat to finish with 4/29 off 13 overs with 3 maidens.

When Peter Siddle took the last two wickets, the Lions' total of 161 meant a lead of just 37, well short of what they had hoped for.

Appropriately it was skipper Tom Donnell (28*) and Brett Forsyth (10*) who knocked off the required runs in just 5.1 overs to guide the Panthers home. The pair have combined in four century-plus opening stands this season.

Paceman Peter Siddle was awarded the John Scholes Medal for Player of the Final after his first innings 6/45, 24 not out with the bat and 2/45 in the second innings.
