All the Sunday action - All-Stars on top
Date of Event : Sun Oct 29, 2017 8:09PM
Matt Frith acknowledges his 100 at the Harry Trott today

Plenty of Sunday action around the Premier grounds today, with Ringwood continuing its unbeaten run against Melbourne at Bayswater, Prahran winning their WP1s clash, also against the Demons, at Toorak Park, a maiden Premier ton to EMP's Georgia Wareham against Dandenong at Shepley Oval, and the Premier All-Stars racking up 300 against the CV Academy team at the Harry Trott, with Matt Frith, Dylan Kight and Hamish Winter-Irving the stars.

Ringwood skipper David King won the toss and batted against Melbourne at Bayswater, but must have been regretting that decision when Ian Holland, Jackson Freeman and Joe Loorham were all dismissed for ducks and the score at 3/2. Patrick Smith (5/40) did all the early damage.

King, with good support from Ben Hastie (24), Nathan Walsh (47) and Jonty Rushton (26), fought back with a typically gritty 90 (151 balls, 8 fours, 1 six) to get the Rams to 8/210. Melbourne began well, with Will Pucovski (38), Blake Thomson (45) on top, but leggie Pat Ashton (3/45), quicks Zak Evans (2/49), Michael Topp (2/32) and Matt Fotia (2/9) all chipped in as the Demons fell for 173, with three overs remaining.

Prahran measured their chase to perfection against Melbourne at Toorak Park. In reply to the Demons' 231 (Amy Yates 81), Kath Hempenstall (55*) and Jess Duffin (51) led the reply, the victory coming with four balls to spare.

EMP's Georgia Wareham (113) and Nat Schilov (60) led their side to a comfortable 139-run win over Dandenong. Only Sophie Molineux (67) held up EMP for any length of time, with Molly Strano (3/7 off 8), Chloe Rafferty (3/17) and Emma Kearney (2/24) doing the damage with the ball.

The Premier All-Stars emerged from day one of their clash with a CV Academy XI on top, finishing with a respectable 7/301 at the Harry Trott Oval.

The Lions' Matthew Frith (102* off 176 balls) weathered the early storm - at one stage the All-Stars were 5/73 - and, with Bulldogs' pair Dylan Kight (60) and Hamish Winter-Irving (61*), cashed in later in the day. The match resumes at 11am tomorrow with the CV Academy at the crease.
