David King on the attack

Play was possible in only two Premier Cricket matches today. 10.4 overs at Shepley Oval and 27 overs at Casey was the sum total of a soggy Saturday across the city. Four Seconds three Thirds and two Fourths matches started, but only 11 of 36 scheduled games commenced. The only Women's fixture scheduled for today (EMP v Prahran) was also abandoned.

Incredibly Frankston Peninsula Seconds and Fourths completed a full day's play with zero rain throughout the day.

However today's disastrous Melbourne weather means that all Men's matches next weekend will be played as One-Dayers with white balls and coloured clothing. This includes the Carlton v Prahran Seconds match, originally scheduled for 22 & 23 February, which will also now be played on Saturday 22 February as a one-dayer.
