Duffin cuts loose
Date of Event : Sun Oct 28, 2018 7:31PM

Prahran's Jess Duffin played a sensational innings in Women's Premier Cricket today. Duffin plundered the hapless Plenty Valley attack for 235 at Yarrambat, scored off just 149 balls. She hit 30 fours and 7 sixes, putting on 317 for the opening stand with 16 year old Merinda Hale (61 off 105 balls, 6 fours).

Duffin's innings is the highest in Women's Premier Cricket since Meg Lanning blasted an unbeaten 241 against Melbourne in 2012-13. Believe it or not, the partnership was not Jess's biggest - she (185) and Nicole Bolton (143) added 322 for the second wicket in 2014-15 against Dandenong.

Prahran finished with 3/381 from their 50 overs, a total Plenty Valley was never going to threaten. The Bats were dismissed for 191, with Clancy, Daws, King and Atkinson each claiming two wickets for Prahran.

In other matches today Box Hill's Zoe Griffiths (90 & 3/32) was the star of her side's win over Dandenong, EMP thrashed Ringwood and Amy Yates (42 & 3/23) and Ella Hayward (4/21) starred in the Demons' comfortable win over Carlton-Brunswick.
