Four outrights and a draw
Date of Event : Sun Feb 11, 2018 8:03PM
Carlton's Aaron Smillie in full flight

Four outrights today in Victorian Premier Cricket has thrown the finals race wide open. Carlton, Kingston Hawthorn, St Kilda and Monash Tigers have all registered maximums. The spread of wins today means the race for the eight is perhaps sealed already. Melbourne (9th) is seven points behind eighth-placed Melbourne Uni.

Kingston Hawthorn recorded the first outright of the day, dismissing Prahran for a second time for 134. This set the Hawks 70 for the outright, which was achieved for the loss of just one wicket.

St Kilda took out the thriller at the Junction Oval. The Saints (116 & 9/144) beat Dandenong (90 & 169), with last pair Michael Beer (4*) and Henry Hall (0*) at the crease and just one ball to spare.

Dan Christian (65* off 37 balls, 8 fours, 1 six) powered Monash Tigers to the outright over Greenvale Kangaroos (159 & 87) at Central Reserve.
At Camberwell, Carlton (6/208 dec & 3/116) beat the Magpies (90 & 232) to charge into second spot on the ladder. Brayden Stepien (74* off 42 balls, 5 fours, 7 sixes) was the Carlton second innings star.

Fitzroy Doncaster, Melbourne Uni, Melbourne and Geelong all recorded more conventional first innings victories.

Ringwood and Frankston Peninsula played out a draw at the Butler Oval. The draw virtually puts both sides out of finals contention.
