Shepley Oval looking glorious tonight
Sophie Molineux stole the show in the opening round of Women's T20s tonight with a brilliant century at Shepley Oval.
Fresh back from the Women's World T20 title in the Caribbean, Sophie smashed 102 off just 55 balls with 14 fours and 2 sixes against Carlton-Brunswick as Dandenong posted 4/183. Boosted by the inclusion of Kiwi skipper Amy Satterthwaite and Queenslander Holly Ferling, reached 3/151 in reply. Satterthwaite hit an impressive 92 not out off 64 balls, with 14 fours and a six.
Leggie Kristen Beams made a triumphant return with 4/7 to bowl Melbourne out for just 70. Essendon Maribyrnong Park, with Georgia Wareham (31*) leading the way, knocked off the runs with almost five overs to spare.
In the other games, Prahran thumped Box Hill and Plenty Valley had a comfortable win over Ringwood.
