Date of Event : Wed Jun 28, 2017 1:05PM

Monday evening saw four Premier Cricket Clubs recognised for results achieved in the season 2106-17 Premier Cricket Club Accreditation Scheme.

The top four placed Clubs within the Victorian program were, Footscray, St Kilda, Carlton and Fitzroy Doncaster and each Club was presented with a certificate recognising their efforts by Cricket Victoria Chairman, Russell Thomas during Monday’s Premier Cricket Delegates meeting.

Fitzroy Doncaster was also recognised as the most improved Club over the season, and all four were presented with an award pack provided by Cricket Australia consisting of signed cricket bats, Ashes tickets and a dozen cricket balls.

Now in its second year, the Premier Cricket Club Accreditation Scheme is a collaborative program between Cricket Australia and each State. The program is rolled out annually and implemented nationally across all 87 Premier Cricket Clubs.

The Premier Cricket Club Accreditation Scheme is an on-line program designed to help clubs improve. The information gathered from clubs provides both Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia with a greater understanding of the challenges and opportunities in Premier Cricket. As a result, tools and resources have been created to assist Premier Cricket stakeholders and volunteers.

Cricket Australia alongside Cricket Victoria will continue to recognise and appreciate the hard work of Victorian Premier Cricket volunteers and support them to drive their own continuous improvement and to take full value of opportunities that lie ahead.

Premier Cricket is a vital part of the national competitions pathway. Our collective goal is to ensuring it remains a strong, competitive environment which is both a breeding ground for talented players and the pinnacle of each State’s community cricket competitions.
