Quarter Finals

VB FINALS ARE HERE

The Final Eight is decided, with MELBOURNE UNI claiming eighth spot with a win over CAMBERWELL MAGPIES in Round 17. This deprived HAWTHORN-MONASH UNI, who had moved to eighth on Saturday with a great win over top side FOOTSCRAY EDGEWATER, but dropped to ninth when the Students got up on Sunday.

GEELONG, with outrights over the Swans and the Kangaroos in the last two rounds, makes its third finals appearance since admission to VCA ranks in 1993/94 and its first since 2000/01.

RINGWOOD is making its first finals appearance for fourteen seasons and its third overall since the Rams were admitted in 1974/75.

ROUND 17

Plenty of bustling action, upset losses to the top three Bulldogs, Blues and Saints and some sensational individual performances featured in the last home and away game for the season. The Hawks were stiff, knocking off the top side FOOTSCRAY EDGEWATER, but dropping back out of the Eight on Sunday.

FRANKSTON PENINSULA finished the season on a high with a great win over ESSENDON, a victory which lifted them off the bottom. PRAHRAN too won well over CARLTON, which will give the club much hope for 2008/09.

Cats' pair Aaron Finch (1025 runs) and Trent Walerys head the batting and bowling aggregates respectively, Walerys tied with Saints' spinner Michael Beer with 52 wickets each.

CV CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
