One of only ten players to have played 300 matches, Neil Buszard was a handy all-rounder for three VCA Clubs in a playing career spanning 22 seasons. He played in 8 VCA Finals, winning 4 of them (Carlton in 1977/78, 1978/79, 1980/81 and with Collingwood in 1987/88).
Following his retirement as a player in 1990/91, Buszard continued as Magpies' Coach until 1994 extending his involvement in VCA Finals to a remarkable 11 in 18 seasons. Buszard took over from Dav Whatmore as VIS Head Cricket Coach in 1995 and served as a Victorian Selector from 1994-2002.
A former top baseballer for Australia and Victoria, Buszard won the Helms Award at the Claxton Shield Championship in 1974. He was also the prime motivator behind the VCA 200 Club's formation in 1985.
