"Brilliant all-rounder who, like Keith Stackpole, won three Ryder Medals and, also like Stackpole, all Ryders were won whilst at his second VCA Club, St Kilda. Warren played in 3 premierships - the first with the Tigers (1982/83) and the second (1985/86) and third (1991/92) with the Saints.
Following his retirement from Premier Cricket, Warren went on to win a Hatch Medal playing for Noble Park in the VSDCA. Andrew Wildsmith, Barry Watson, Adam Dale, Rob Bartlett and Mick Allen also achieved this feat (Ryder & Hatch Medallists).
Warren's all-round abilities were good enough to earn him Bushrangers selection for 21 first class matches between 1983/84 and 1987/88, scoring 908 runs @ 30.27 with a top score of 111 against South Australia at the MCG in 1983/84."
