"A strong right-arm paceman and capable right-hand batsman who came to prominence when he took 49 wickets in the Vics' Sheffield Shield-winning season of 1990/91. His accuracy and steadiness under pressure made him an important member of Australian one-day teams and his outstanding form on the triumphant tours of England in 1993 and 1997 and the West Indies in 1995 established his spot in the Test team.

Reiffel went on to become Victoria's leading wicket-taker in first class cricket, passing Alan Connolly's long-standing record during the 2001/02 season. Following his retirement from playing, he took up umpiring for the 2002/03 season as part of an ACB development program to encourage former first class cricketers to make the transition to officiating."
