"A South Melbourne stalwart who notched 287 matches for the Swans in a career lasting 32 seasons at the Lake Oval. 24 of those seasons were with the 1st XI. In that time, he played in 5 VCA Finals for three premierships - in 1952/53, 1959/60 and 1967/68 and won the club's batting average six times. He is the only player to have played in all three South Melbourne flag wins. He was skipper in the 1959/60 win over the Tigers, while his unbeaten 112 against Essendon in the 1967/68 Final was instrumental in South's win.
Kendall played 17 first class matches for Victoria between 1954/55 and 1959/60, scoring 668 runs @ 27.83 with one century - 119 against South Australia at Adelaide in 1956/57."
